Dusseldorf Dive Show | January 2017
Updated: Oct 14, 2022
We had never visited this dive showbefore, but the pictures we saw every year of the boot messe looked so promising that we really wanted to be part of this.
Alarm clock on 05:00 o'clock and at 07:00 o'clock we were boarding the ICE International from Amsterdam Central Station towards Dusseldorf.
And after 2,5 hours of coffee and sleeping we finally arrived at Dusseldorf Central Station.
All excited to enter this yearly scubadiving event where scuba fanatics feel like children in a candy store. And the messe really delivers.
Apart form the obvious presence of brands as Scubapro, Cressi and Aqualung we also met with a lot off small dive centres. Dive centres representing scuba diving in Northern Sardinia, Ustica Italy, Hyeres France, Fuerteventura Spain, Corsica, Elba italy, the Azores in Portugal and a lot more. All very very interesting as we found that Europe has much more exciting scuba diving on offer than we realized.
But this is off course also where one can meet up with other scuba fanatics like Liz Parkinson, Stuart Cove, Nadia Aly or Bill Acker (founder of the Manta Ray Bay Hotel and Yap Divers).

Also the Tourism Boards representing Maldives, Phillipines, Egypt, Indonesia, Azores are present and try to get you all excited to book a scuba diving trip.
Liveaboards, Scuba diveshops selling sucba equipment and a whole area focused on underwater photograpy.
At the end of the day we were all fully loaded with goodie bags, stickers, t-shirts and lots of ideas where our next dive trip could be. See you next year Dusseldorf!
