What is DiveSpot exactly?

DiveSpot is a Dive Travel Information website created by and especially for scuba divers.
We search and collect all the dive travel information you need to realize your dream dive holiday.

And we post all this information on our website so you can read, plan and in the end book your dream holiday!

Why did you start DiveSpot?

For many years our dream was to dive all these seemingly unreachable dive destinations like Seychelles, Maldives, Bora Bora, Fiji, Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Fakarava, Aitutaki and many many more.  But we always presumed you needed to be very wealthy to do all this. In the end this proved to be wrong. And after having spent hours searching the internet for the best dive travel information, we actually made it happen: we finally dived all these places we dreamed about and many many more!

Now after more than 15 years of travelling and diving all these magnificent places, we decided to share that information online by starting this Dive Travel Information website. By doing so you don’t have to search the internet yourself. We already did that for you.

What is the information you provide?

We provide you with information on 'Why go', 'How to get there', 'Where to stay', 'Where to dive' and 'Best time to travel'. And we only post dive travel information about our personal favourite divespots.

What is the DiveSpot Team?

The DiveSpot Team is a team of dedicated scuba diving enthusiasts. The DiveSpot website is created by The DiveSpot Team. Want to meet the team? Then visit our Meet the team page.

Is DiveSpot all about expensive hotels and resorts?

No not at all! We focus mostly on mid range accommodation.

What are your thoughts on scuba diving in general?

With proper training, equipment and common sense, scuba diving can be a safe, recreational sport for people of all ages and abilities. However, with any type of challenging activity, especially in a different atmosphere than we are used to, diving can also be a dangerous sport. As we are very aware of this we recommend:

  • Diving through an accredited diving organization (PADI, SSI, NAUI, CMAS, FFESM, etc...)

  • Always dive within the limits of your diving qualifications

  • Dive as part of a group when possible

  • And always dive with a buddy

Plan your dive and dive your plan. Dive safe and have fun!
