The South Pacific island of Moorea is one of the most visited island of French Polynesia. Just a 15 minute flight or a 1 hour ferry ride away from the island of Tahiti, the island of Moorea is really love at first sight. Lush tropical slopes and valleys blossom with hibiscus, while palm-covered motu circle the illuminated lagoon like a delicate necklace. Perfect white-sand beaches give way to emerald waters where colored fish animate the coral gardens as they greet the many sharks of Moorea. Diving Moorea means diving relatively shallow and where currents remain constant. But what makes Moorea really special is the shark diving! Moorea is THE place to observe at least 3 species of reef sharks: black-tipped shark, grey shark and the lemon shark.

The best time to visit the Society Islands of French Polynesia is outside the cyclone season between the months of April and November.
Outside this period it can get quite hot and unpleasantly humid.
And don’t forget that from june to October humpback whales visit the Society Islands!
First fly into French Polynesia’s International Airport called Faa'a International Airport (www.tahiti-aeroport.pf) (Airport code PPT). This is the strategic gateway to the South Pacific islands of French. Papeete can be reached from either Los Angeles, Japan, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Chile and Hawaii. Coming from Los Angeles the flight will take you about 9,5 hours.
