The Medes Islands are today one of the most important marine flora and fauna reserves in the western Mediterranean. Twenty years of protection have brought about a spectacular recovery of the wealth of the seabed, the marine environment and the islands themselves.
And in luck you might even encounter a Mola Mola! Most diveshops are well outfitted dive operations. Our dive centre had a heated area to dry the wetsuit after diving. And our diveboat even had a little elevator at the back to lift you out of the water after diving. This place is absolutely fantastic!

From May to October is certainly the best time to visit with the vast majority of tourists arriving in July and August. So start booking early if you plan to go in peak summer.
First fly into Barcelona International Airport (Airport Code BCN). Have a look at www.barcelona-airport.com
Or a even better and closer option is to fly into Girona International Airport (Airport Code GRO). Also see www.girona-airport.net
After this L’estartit can be reached by either rental car or local bus.
